Who we are
Elena Pavlou, Esq.
Founder & Attorney, Venus Law Offices
Elena Pavlou, Esq. is the founder of Venus Law, a Washington, D.C.–licensed attorney with international legal training and experience handling litigation in several states through pro hac vice admissions. Her work includes civil disputes, contract matters, family-related litigation, and appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC). She is recognized for her detailed preparation, high-quality legal writing, and effective advocacy in contested matters, including cases involving major corporate defendants and complex motion practice.
Elena was born and raised in Athens, Greece, and completed her undergraduate legal studies at Birmingham City University in the United Kingdom. She graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Laws degree in American Legal Studies, earning a perfect 4.0 GPA. During her studies, she served as President of the Negotiation Society, Treasurer of the Debating Society, and was a finalist in the university’s major debating competition. She was also selected to represent her entire school in the United Kingdom’s National Negotiation Competition, an honor awarded to only two students per institution.
In addition, Elena contributed to legal scholarship as a student editor for the British Journal of American Legal Studies, collaborating closely with the editor-in-chief on articles published in the journal.
Elena earned her Juris Doctor from New England Law | Boston, where she received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. Her deep commitment to community service led to her recognition on the Massachusetts Pro Bono Honor Roll and High Honor Roll for her substantial pro bono work assisting domestic-violence survivors.
Following law school, Elena gained litigation experience in both large national firms and boutique practices. She has litigated against well-resourced opposing counsel, major corporations, and established defense firms, and has successfully prevailed on numerous contested motions in complex and high-stakes matters. Her work is characterized by thorough analysis, practical strategy, and a strong commitment to client communication.
Elena is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and has represented clients in several states through pro hac vice admissions. She is also admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC), where she represents veterans nationwide challenging wrongful or inadequate VA disability decisions. Over the years, she has developed a broad national network of attorneys and frequently collaborates across jurisdictions when cases require multi-state coordination.
Elena founded Venus Law with the belief that legal representation should be personal, clear, and grounded in genuine care for clients. She emphasizes direct attorney access, thoughtful analysis, and strategies tailored to each client’s goals rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Outside of her legal work, Elena enjoys spending time with her family, weightlifting, hiking, and volunteering with organizations that support individuals and communities in need. Her international background, academic achievements, and diverse litigation experience continue to shape her practical and client-centered approach to the law.
Alyssa Bouffard
Managing Paralegal, Venus Law Offices
Alyssa Bouffard is the Managing Paralegal at Venus Law Offices, where she oversees case organization, client support, and the firm’s internal systems with exceptional precision and care. Renowned for her discipline, clarity, and ability to anticipate needs before they arise, Alyssa is one of the core pillars of Venus Law’s operations and client experience.
Alyssa’s professional journey began far from a traditional law office. Before transitioning into the legal field, she built a career in both the natural products industry and agriculture—fields that demand resilience, structure, and sharp problem-solving skills. Years of early mornings, hands-on work, and high-pressure environments shaped the personal discipline she is known for today. She starts each morning at 4 a.m., begins her day with a run, and brings that same focus and intention to every client and every case.
Her path toward law was shaped by personal experience. After sustaining an unexpected injury and facing a challenging legal matter of her own, our team represented her during that time, offering the guidance, support, and stability she needed. That experience not only gave Alyssa a deep understanding of the client perspective but inspired her to pursue a career in the legal field. When her case resolved, she joined our team with the goal of helping others navigate their own difficult chapters.
Today, Alyssa manages key aspects of case operations across all practice areas, including drafting, research, scheduling, filings, discovery organization, and communication with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. Her systems keep the firm running smoothly, her presence keeps clients informed and supported, and her reliability is a source of confidence for everyone who works with her.
Clients consistently value Alyssa’s warmth, responsiveness, and the steady professionalism she brings to each matter. Her blend of firsthand empathy, exceptional organization, and unwavering discipline makes her an integral part of the Venus Law team.
Outside the office, Alyssa enjoys exploring South Carolina’s beaches, trails, and waterways with her dog—grateful for second chapters, early mornings, and the opportunity to help clients move forward with clarity and strength.
